Our first visit to The Griffith Observatory in Los Angeles yesterday. Joseph had the day off from school, so it was just the two of us all day!

We arrived just in time for a test of the Tesla at the Griffith Observatory. The neon sign only lit up when they would do a test and is dark otherwise.The tesla is an SI unit for measuring the strength of a magnetic field. Its symbol is T. The unit is named after the famous inventor Nikola Tesla, who discovered the alternating current, among hundreds of other phenomena. A magnetic field of one tesla is about 30,000 times as powerful as the Earth's magnetic field.
This boy really loves hiking in the nature and we got a 45 minute hike in before leaving The Griffith Observatory area and met up with Stephen and Otelia at Olive park in Burbank.
